Description   Retour de Chasse Tapestry A lord, accompanied by his beaters, is returning to his property seen in  the distance. Late 16th century. The Renaissance radically changed the art of tapestry and imposed a new aesthetic, by associating tapestry and painting. The tapestry holds all that characterizes Renaissance art: composition, decor, perspective, light and borders of fruits, flowers and birds. The richness and elegance of the costumes in this Renaissance masterpiece contrasts with the austerity of  medieval tapestries. This tapestry is imported from France.
